ESSENTIAL OIL TIP

Essential Oil Tips: Clear Skin

Happy Thursday, everyone! For today's essential oil tip, I thought I'd talk about DoTERRA's Clear Skin Essential Oil Blend.  This blend contains rosewood oil, melaleuca, eucalyptus globulus, geranium, and lemongrass essential oils, along with black cumin seed oil.  These oils were chosen for their unique abilities to help protect the skin from bacterial and fungal growth and from other skin issues like eczema and acne.

I want to talk about some of the properties of each of the oils in this blend.

Rosewood oil is antiseptic, it works well to help clear infections and it also helps revitalize the skin.

Melaleuca, I just talked about last week, but in short it's antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and helps support the skin in the recovery process after injury.

Eucalyptus glubulus is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal.  It's been used medically in France to treat candida and other fungal infections.

Geranium is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, it also is widely used to help alleviate acne and eczema.  It also helps balance sebum (the oily/waxy matter we produce to protect our skin and hair) levels.

Lemongrass is antiseptic, it helps clear infections and revitalizes skin tissue.

Black Cumin Seed Oil has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.  It also has a high level of linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid that is needed for healthy skin and hair. Linoleic acid also helps reduce acne, and helps with wound healing.

So, what skin issues can you use it for?  Well, pretty much any and all issues relating to your skin.  Some examples include: Acne, Athlete's Foot, Callouses, Dermatitis, Facial Blemishes, Impetigo, Itchy Scalp, Infected Nails, Oily Skin, Toe Nail Fungus, and Skin Lesions.

To use it is simple, just apply topically on area of concern, dilute if needed.
